My heart is heavy. My heartfelt condolences over the loss of your mom Crissy.
Crissy and I attended ECR in the early 60s. We became friends on social media, first on My Space, where she recognized me as a familiar face and singer at school events. We continued our friendship via Facebook until she made her transition January 3, 2023. We last communicated on December 28 and she was hopeful about being transferred to another care facility and asked for prayers. Crissy and I often ended our interchanges with mutual commitment to prayer for one another.
Your Mom was a very special person. She lived her Christian faith without fanfare or pretense. She cared about people and respected all. I was among the first that she shared her music with when as a singer/writer she asked my opinion. I was impressed! Crissy was indeed very gifted.
When she first told me that I had a part in her decision to pursue music as a final career choice I was "flabbergasted!" She recalled an ECR talent show where my friends and I sang, and she said that the experience left a lasting impact and pull on her decision to move to Nashville and pursue songwriting! I had NO idea.
Over the past 7 – 8 years our friendship grew as mutual travelers on our separate musical journeys. I was aware of her pain and the difficulty she endured during her final days and my wife, and I remained committed to assist Crissy if we could at all help. She only requested prayers, and we have kept Crissy in our prayers.
When I learned of her passing, I felt a great loss of a true fellow traveler, one who takes the road less traveled, and the world is better for their unique sojourn on earth. Your Mom was a beautiful human being. She lived, loved, and conquered hate and hatred, and that's all that is asked of us. May Crissy rest in peace and rise in glory!
Peace and Blessings,
Dennis and Marcella Day

Crissy and I met online around 2005-ish when I was planning a trip to Memphis and Nashville. I was asking for hotel recommendations in Nashville and she responded and was very helpful. We ended up meeting there, had dinner and went together to see Nelson’s concert at the Wildhorse Saloon. After my return home we stayed in touch for awhile. I learned she had bought a house in Tennessee, and then eventually retired, sold the house and moved to Chicago where I thought she said she was from. She seemed to be a very sweet soul with a great love for writing music. My condolences to her daughter. 😔
Crissy was a valued servant of the State until her retirement at the end of 2019. Beyond her exemplary service to the State, she was a very creative person who engaged in a variety of activities which included drawing, painting, puppetry and songwriting. Her talents and generosity were recognized and clearly needed by the Lord. My life will be richer from knowing her and she will be greatly missed.

This was when we were all together in TN before she went back to Chicago. It’s me, my Dad and her. I’m shocked to hear about her passing. She was a very sweet person.
